Interesting home building and design ideas are being highlighted daily through October 21 in the Parade of Homes in beautiful Kings’ Chapel neighborhood in Arrington, Tennessee wine country just south of Nashville. Although Hughes-Edwards did not build in this year’s Parade, based upon industry experience and expertise, Hughes-Edwards President Bryan Edwards was chosen to be a judge at the home building showcase and says there are a lot of great ideas at the event from building products and whimsical kids rooms to granite and backsplash inspiration which are shared below.
The Decorologist, Kristie Barnett, recently wrote a fall color trends blog where she notes green is still popular. We agree and the master bedroom of Aspen Construction’s home has a great Sherwin Williams “Filmy Green” in a soothing tone.
This green also trends in the Namibian granite counters of the adjacent master bath.
Kids rooms are always a fun home feature. Leigh Ann Agee consistently earns awards at home tours across Nashville and created an oversized guitar with dimensional elements for designer Lee Shacklock’s Parade of Homes’ girls room.
Stacked stone is a home building element with a timeless quality. Hughes-Edwards weaves this element often in exteriors of homes mixing with traditional brick or a covered porch. Here’s a great example at the Parade of Homes.
No home is complete without great original art. Popular artist and gallery owner Ron York has a bevy of his talented York & Friends Fine Art Gallery artists on display throughout Southern Heritage Company’s home.
Finally, what VIP Preview Party is complete without a little star power. Former Kings’ Chapel resident and accomplished dancer/actress Julianne Hough dropped by to check out the pretty homes.
For a great wrap-up of the award-winning home features, check out Tennessean/Williamson AM writer Nancy Mueller’s story. The Kings’ Chapel Parade of Homes is open daily through October 21. For more info, visit Kings’ Chapel’s website.
